SlideHUB Q1 Product Webinar
Sorry for the slight delay.
To confirm that all technical things are in
good shape.
Would love a quick mic check to make sure that the sound is good.
looking at my co-hosts in the other room or
someone yes i can at least here and i hear you too
perfect
all right um we put up a quick poll in the um
in the system so um if you want to help
us to understand what drove your decision
to spend time with us today then please
you know
00:51
give us a quick one click feedback or insight would be super helpful
other than that
uh just want to get get started here
um all right so quick introduction to myself
i am annas i'm the ceo and cto of slidehub
i used to be a consultant like some of you and i
started slidehub in order to to solve a lot of the
the pains i was experiencing after i left the consulting
work the world i work out of a copenhagen office
and you now have my email in case you want to write me
along with me today i have my two
co-founders um owner and lesser
in the chat as well they will be helping out with the chat and might
01:34
also be taking certain follow-up questions that might come along
additionally only will also share some of the
updates from from this quarter as well
and in terms of today we want to talk about what we
have released as we as we normally do in these webinars
we want to look into the short-term future and
what we're building on right now in terms of
the plans for q2 and then
we want to talk a little bit about how we
think about ai in sort of a slidehub context
um so that that's on the on the that's basically the agenda and
then we have a q a in the end in case we want to have some questions
uh if you have any questions uh if you have any
02:19
questions during the the webinar feel free to
to write uh them as they they come in and then
either i'll address them or we'll try to do it do
so via chat so please don't please don't hold back
all right for those of you that's new to to slidehub
we recently created a small one minute recap video of
what what we actually do and the value we provide so
to uh
yeah give everybody a quick recap of that
i'll just play that video um so uh here we go
all right so in case you haven't uh
spent a lot of time with slidehub yet
i hope you're going to be able to do it
04:14
hopefully i'll have at least high level idea of
some of the value that we're trying to to add um
so let's continue
and all right um one way to also think about
slidehub from product vision perspective
is that we we kind of
kind of separate our vision a little bit
depending on the type of people in that
that interacts with slidehub
so on one end of the spectrum for the end users the people
either presenting slides or creating slides but who's not
responsible for actually managing the content of slidehub
we refer to those as the as the end
04:58
users when it comes to the end users
our sort of focus is to make things as simple as humanly possible
make it really really fast to learn we know i know a lot of users
have a lot of AWOL have a little bit of someone that they try
to keep them е parallel the environment umサhub status how the
big alternative of using any value says Para都 server take them
so far don't manage the energy that it will currently have to
engage as lives or even as a power supply type böylecem
ylai makes it really help to generate demand and
grow directly kepada what they use as their avataru
reducing the number of features and simplifying them
and making things faster and so forth for the end users.
05:46
At the same time, we also want to make Slidoff
as powerful as possible for the content managers,
those that
is tasked with maintaining
and populating the Slidoff libraries.
So on that end of the spectrum,
we're really thinking about how we can make things
more customizable,
how we can create more insights,
how we can make it easier to create a lot of good content.
06:10
That in general means a larger number of features
and more complicated features to make that goal.
So that's how we really think about the vision of the product.
In terms of what is new in Q1,
then
Q1 has been one of these quarters that we,
from a product perspective,
have done a whole lot of work,
but a lot of that work has not necessarily been visible to the users.
06:40
So we've done a lot of
rewriting of our backend.
We've been looking into
how we can make things more scalable to
match the growing number of users we have.
So we really invested in the long-term foundation of the platform
to also increase the speed and the reliability.
07:00
Some of the specific ways this has shown up for our clients,
is that Slidoff is in that Slidoff uses,
I think 50% less computer resources to run.
It was already a very light application,
but it now reduces it a lot more.
Also the speed by which you upload slides to Slidoff.
So if you're updating slides directly from PowerPoint,
or if you're contributing slides to a library,
that is now somewhere between 70 and 80% faster.
07:32
Something that we feel really good about the tech team.
And we know that has also solved a few headaches from our users.
But we did have time to do some more visible features
that you can actually experience in the application.
And those will go from now.
You can see a big quick overview here,
but to kind of support each of them,
we have made a short video that gives you
a little bit more insight to each of them.
08:01
So the first one is the improved navigation.
So I'm just going to
play this little video here to kind of show you how
this actually looks like inside the application.
So let's go to the Slidoff side pane
and click on insert Slidoff slides.
If you go to the left,
you can see that we have new icons here,
each corresponding to a specific part of the Slidoff platform.
08:27
If you click on these,
it is much easier and quicker to switch from,
let's say,
suggestions to inspiration slides to company slides,
for example.
Let's go to company slides.
This way categories have more space and it's much
easier for you to click which team content you want
and more.
08:46
We have also made it much easier for you
to see which slides have been updated.
So here's the updated tab and you can see how many have been updated.
The search all is now always on the top here,
making it easier for you to find the right asset.
End user and manager view has been clearly separated.
If you want to go to the manager view,
just click on the button at the bottom.
09:06
The various manage aspects and settings
are more clear cut and easier to find now,
making everything more efficient.
We hope that this navigation improvement
will help you speed up your design work.
So for those of you that have been using Slidoff for a while,
most likely you already noticed
this change, but it's something we really took.
09:33
I think this is like the third iteration of
this navigation part and something where we
try to take all the feedback we received to
simplify the view a lot and really increase the
use of the space to match the needs and so forth.
And as was also mentioned in the video,
a core focus will also make this really clear difference
between when you are managing assets and when you are using it.
10:01
So that if you are managing assets,
it becomes really easy for you to kind
of see what does the end users experience
as a sort of core
change to
how it was before.
Another,
I think smaller features is this better
support for high resolution images.
10:22
I'll just quickly play this quick video to just see
what I'm talking about and I'll explain a bit more.
High resolution image support.
I'm going to click on insert images and illustration.
Just select the picture you need and click on the dropdown.
And if you click on insert high quality,
it will keep the image the original size.
10:51
All right.
As you can see, a very simple feature.
It supports both
your company assets,
your company images particularly,
and as well as these images from Onsplash.
And as well,
what you don't see as part of this video is that what we
actually changed is the default experience is now that
even though you upload a really,
really high resolution image to your library,
by default,
we will reduce the resolution a little bit.
11:23
So it's more PowerPoint friendly.
This sort of helps you to avoid that your file becomes massive.
And sort of
a lot of times we see that people have a lot of sort of
super,
super,
super high resolution images in the PowerPoint that,
you know,
makes the file very,
very big,
makes it really,
really hard to send without really any value.
11:45
Because unless you want to print it into a big poster,
you cannot really see the difference visually.
So we kind of changed the default,
but at the same time,
we also want to give people the opportunity to use the
high quality version if they do need to print out the
slides on a big poster or something similar.
12:02
So,
yeah,
that's a little bit more
background to the feature.
Now, One will
sort of take you through the next two updates we've done.
Yeah, thank you, Anders.
12:18
So,
the first one here is the validation feature.
A lot of the times when slides or full
presentations are uploaded into SlideHub,
into SlideHub,
there can be some issues that are not just best practice in SlideHub,
but also just when you work with PowerPoint in general.
12:39
So,
for example,
if you have a file that's 250 megabytes because it contains
videos and it contains some very high quality imagery,
that's not optimal when you upload into SlideHub,
but it's also not optimal just in general if
you want to share it with your colleagues,
share it with clients,
etc.
13:00
So, now we actually
validate the files before they are uploaded into SlideHub,
and then there are some actions you can take to
kind of get best practice PowerPoint files,
not just within SlideHub,
but working in general.
So,
for example,
if you do have a large file size,
you get a warning and we have different
measures that can help accommodate that.
13:27
Another case is if you do have different language
settings in the presentation that you are uploading.
You can actually overwrite that with SlideHub,
so we only,
for example,
get your US English corporate language.
So,
it's a way for us to make sure that the material
that you upload has best practices applied to it.
13:59
All right.
Let's go with the click.
Okay,
so let's upload a new file to SlideHub
to check how the file validation works.
Click on Manage Assets.
And then go to Add New. Let's upload a file.
14:29
The first file I'm going to upload is the 6
Issues A. On the right side of the screen,
you can see what you can do after the file has been verified,
from labeling it,
to selecting specific slides,
to scanning it for similar slides,
and labeling the slide by slide.
14:41
All right, we have our first warning.
The file exceeds the slide limit for processing.
Please decrease your slides to under 15MB,
preferably to less than 20MB for a smoother experience.
I'm going to click on Add New again
and upload a different file instead.
So now I'm going to upload the following file,
6 Issues B. And let's see what areas we'll get now.
14:59
Here you can see that there's six issues.
The first one is that the file contains a large video.
Custom font might cause issues.
The file contains Zoom slide links.
The file contains internal links.
And the file contains multiple language settings.
Finally,
the file contains specific sensitive information.
15:14
If I click on this article here,
it will take me to our help desk,
where I can get advice about what to do.
So, what was our first problem?
There's a video left.
link that makes the file really large.
So,
I can either remove the video from the file,
or I can replace the video with a link,
which will reduce the file size.
15:31
For now,
I'm just going to click on Ignore
and Next to get to the next problem.
The next issue is that the file contains
custom fonts that might cause issues.
What this means is that if you open
this file on a different computer,
it might not render correctly and it
won't look as you had designed it.
15:44
To solve this issue,
you can embed fonts inside your PowerPoint file
to make sure that you'll always render correctly.
If it's a specific custom font,
you can also reach out to our customer service
to help you.
If you don't want to move forward,
just click on Drop File,
but I'm just going to click on Ignore and Next.
15:58
The file contains a Zoom link in the slide.
Here is find out which slide it's in.
Basically,
this issue means that you will get a preview of the Zoom link,
but you won't be able to open it.
To solve this,
you can either exclude the slide with the Zoom link,
or you can manually remove the Zoom link from the file.
16:12
And instead of the preview image,
put a different image.
I'm going to click on Exclude Slide with Zoom.
This issue is about internal links.
If you have internal links inside a PowerPoint presentation,
and you keep them,
you're going to be limited in editing
them once you're inside Slithout platform.
16:26
Because if you change the order of the slides,
the links are going to be broken.
You can solve this by removing the links,
or if you decide to keep the links,
please be aware that if you change the
order of the slides in the presentation,
the internal links are not going to function.
16:40
The file contains multiple language settings.
You can solve this easily here by choosing
one specific language for the complete file,
and we'll automatically update that for you.
This doesn't change the file's appearance,
but it is best to use just one language setting.
It's going to make
spell checking much easier for you.
16:54
And the last issue you're going to see is
that your file contains sensitive content.
This is part of our Redact tool,
and we check your file,
whether it has references to people's
places or some kind of personal information.
If you want to check what content has been deemed sensitive,
just click on content,
and then you'll be able to go through a complete redaction process.
17:10
Otherwise,
you can just click on Ignore and continue.
Once you have completed the validation process,
you'll be able to add the slide as a standalone slide,
or as a presentation.
You can see here that we exclude one of the slides with Zoom links,
therefore I can't add this
presentation as a presentation as a presentation,
but on any other file,
it should work perfectly.
17:26
We hope you're going to find this file validation system as useful.
So I know that that can look a little bit technical.
There's quite a lot of different examples,
but I think the key takeaway is that if you fix these things,
it will also make your job just
easier in PowerPoint in general, and
we have to help
send the article that I posted in the
article that I posted in the chat.
17:55
Otherwise,
just feel free to reach out to me and my team,
and then we'll be happy to help you solve the
underlying cause of these issues so that we can fix
it permanently and you'll have a good experience.
Next up is we have improved the overall library management.
So some companies don't use their main company library,
but rely extensively on
teams.
18:24
So we have to do that.
So we have to do that. So we have created the ability to remove
that so it doesn't cause any confusion.
And we have also made it possible to transfer all assets and the
categories and labels and tags across the different libraries.
So if you are moving content either from one team to another,
or
let's say you have a
business unit that needs to be transferred into a new account,
we can help you with that as well.
18:53
So without further ado, I'll just go into
small video here.
It is now possible to transfer all assets and the associated labels,
categories,
tags,
subcategories across libraries,
for example,
from a team to a company library with a single click.
19:13
This feature will help you move entire assets
across libraries much quicker than before.
Let me show you where you can find it.
So let's go to manage assets.
Go to asset settings.
Click on other.
Click on select assets from the transfer
to a company asset across libraries.
19:33
And here you can choose which assets you want to select
from which library you want to transfer from to
and where you want to send them to.
And once that is ready,
all you have to do is hit the confirm
button and the assets will be moved.
You can also merge tags across all asset types.
19:50
Managers can now merge multiple tags
into one via the tags manager view.
If tags are merged,
the associated assets are automatically
transferred to the selected primary tag.
So
where can you find this?
Once again,
you need to go to the manage assets tab in SlideHub.
20:04
Here you will click on tags.
I am going to select
2023 and 2022 Q3. And then here I will click on merge.
It's very easy and simple.
And I'm sure that you're going to find it useful
when organizing your library in the future.
Hide the company slide library and only use team libraries.
20:24
On some accounts,
the company library has limited relevance as
only team libraries were used to store content.
We have had clients asking for the option to not
show the company library in the Explorer assets view.
Now this option is here.
You can find it under the asset settings slides.
20:37
Let me show you where it is.
You need to go to manage assets.
Go to slides.
Make sure I'm on the overview and click on the settings button here.
Is where you will find the only present team content.
So now it is set as show libraries.
And if I click here,
moving forward,
we will only be able to use the team libraries content.
21:01
Yeah,
again,
if there's any questions to this feature
or you're afraid of making mistakes,
just reach out beforehand and we're happy to jump
on a call and help you transfer the assets as well.
Perfect.
21:17
Thank you, everyone.
All right.
In terms of looking forward,
and then some of the things we're working on right now and plan
on releasing in Q2 are related to how we can generally help people
drive sort of an increased written rate and win more business,
which we see is one of our sort of key value adds
in Slider.
21:40
So we're looking at Slider.
Some of the features we're looking into is
really to take this idea of a simplified end user
experience to the extreme by introducing a presenter role.
So
Slider as default is very focused on the
people that build slides on a day to day basis.
21:59
But we know in some of our clients and potential clients,
there's a big emphasis on also using Slider
as the people that mainly present slides.
This could be
an account manager or a
salesperson or someone who actually doesn't build a lot,
but they do use the stuff that has been
built by marketing and other teams.
22:18
And what we plan on building is this feature where you
can assign that specific role to a number of people.
And then they will get an increased
simplified experience that makes it super,
super simple for them to just use the right slides
that has been allocated by marketing and other people.
Along the same lines,
we're also going to be building a proposal wizard.
22:48
So you can already,
as also seen in some of the other presentations,
you can have both single slides and full presentations on Slider,
but also from our own sales experience.
We know there's a lot of cases where the most impactful
approach is not just to reuse the same presentation
as is, but to do a number of different edits. We have a number of different ways we
can do the same in terms of adjustments. We already support using placeholders to to
fine tuning like client names or industries or
contact information and so forth.
23:20
But
with the proposal wizard,
we want to sort of expand upon that
value and also at the ability to customize
the sections of the presentations more.
So,
for example,
you might want to add a specific case
that matches the client question,
or you want to add some
like team specific CV slides and so forth.
23:45
So,
but yeah,
we want to do that
in a sort of controlled environment
where the marketing team can sort of pre-define
which section that goes into
that proposal.
23:57
So that's something we're quite excited about.
Then the last one is to double down
on our placeholder feature.
We already have
a pretty solid placeholder feature,
but we have like a large number of
improvements for making it even more effective.
24:16
This also includes actually integrating it
with the validation experience you saw before.
So we more automatically help content managers identify
potential placeholders to make the experience even more smooth.
Yeah,
we sort of
right now still on the relatively early design phase.
24:39
So if any of you would love to give
input on some of these designs,
we'll be happy to include you in the dialogues as well.
So
feel free to reach out.
Very cool.
All right.
24:59
So this is some of the specific things that coming.
We have also like a list of other,
I think 20 things each
that we're sort of working on.
We've been fortunate enough to have a quite
good increase in our developer capacity here in Q1. And thanks to also the more boring refactor work,
we're now sort of really ready to start looking into new features.
25:23
And so forth.
All right.
And one of the big sort of features
that's on everybody's minds these days,
there's this whole AI topic.
And of course,
AI can mean a lot of things and the things,
thanks to open AI that that's all of a sudden,
so everybody needs to have a view on
AI. And then we of course have as well.
25:46
The way we sort of think about AI is that
we see it as an opportunity to really
support our existing product vision.
We know that Microsoft is,
you know,
they already have had a co-pilot
and are working on certain number of functionalities and we don't,
you know,
plan on start competing with their functionality for good reasons.
26:11
But we instead of kind of really see AI
as a way for us to strengthen the existing
value proposition.
So as you remember, I talked about the
end user value of being having a really,
really simple time finding the relevant things and having
sort of this more powerful approach to the managers.
26:33
And that's also,
we believe that AI can eventually
really help support these two visions.
furthermore,
we see AI sort of,
you know,
AI sort of fitting into a more sort of general
integration path strategies that we're working on.
26:50
So as I think all you know by now,
of course,
it works in PowerPoint.
It also works across the other
Office applications.
We have some SharePoint integrations already set up,
but we are sort of working on a number of other integrations.
27:07
And the whole idea is that,
we want SlideHub to be the place where you keep your sort of curated,
approved assets.
And then, you know,
use it as the central hub for like
a number of different applications,
just like we do with PowerPoint now and with Word and so forth.
27:26
We believe that over time,
we want to build integration with
things such as Salesforce and HubSpot,
but also potentially with co-pilot itself.
So you'll be able to kind of use SlideHub
sort of,
sort of,
sort of,
sort of, sort of, in a really sort of,
seamless way with a potential co-pilot subscription as well.
27:48
Additionally,
we also sort of,
sort of, in early dialogues with a number of clients
about building out a more sort of generalized API
so that people can,
you know,
be even more creative than,
you know,
what we can come up with in terms of using these assets in a
powerful way in combination with all sorts of other applications.
28:05
And so we think that,
while not all of this is 100% AI,
we think this idea that you have this
pre-approved material as sort of the cornerstone
for potential other AI applications is
essential way forward.
If you look at some of the more specific ways that AI could
sort of help the current vision,
then I think from an end-user perspective,
some of the things we've been looking into is,
you know,
could we use,
like,
28:36
like,
a prompt-like interface to build the
initial draft of a presentation that,
sort of,
that only uses things that has already
been approved inside of SlideHub,
right?
So it could be,
for example,
a version of a proposal builder
as a way to,
kind of,
you know,
28:54
make the first draft by just piling
things that you know that are approved.
So you avoid this hallucination issue
that's normally associated with AI,
but you still sort of combine
in a good way in a good way.
Another sort of more,
probably more short-term improvement that we have on the
roadmap is the ability to use AI to improve the search results.
29:16
Because right now the search is still,
you know,
even though it has some type O safety,
it doesn't automatically, you know,
use synonyms and aliases and so forth
to find alternative search results.
So we believe that
AI is a very natural way to improve the search results.
29:35
So we believe that we can take a lot of the results to increase
the number of matches or make the match quality better over time.
And so along those same lines, we believe that,
for example,
if you're working on a certain number,
a certain slide,
right,
then using AI as,
as suggesting,
saying,
hey,
the slide you're working on,
you know,
29:53
actually exist in some version in SlideHub already,
you know,
do you want to check what,
what your colleagues have already built there to,
to sort of avoid
a very complicated work in organizations.
Of course,
that would require some,
some approval of ability to read slides and so forth.
30:09
But it's just some of the idea that we sort of kind of see it from an
end user perspective in terms of really leveraging the,
the underlying content of SlideHub,
using some of these large language models and some
of this new sort of technical foundations for,
for,
yeah,
leveraging content, basically.
30:30
So, on the manager view,
we believe there's also like a number of, of
natural extension where AI can play an important role.
But the idea is, is basically to
help automatically tag items, both,
you know,
whether it's icons or images or slides,
so to kind of avoid some of the more manual process,
that's currently used today with,
with tagging and classification.
30:59
But also identifying potential
improvements in the content based on the,
you know,
search history of the users and download histories,
try to like extract some suggestions for,
you know,
the type of slides that might be missing in the library and so forth.
31:15
So there's certain like,
analytical outcomes we can derive, combine
our existing data with,
with some LLM queries and so on.
And we are sort of,
we are sort of,
we are sort of, where we are at the moment is that we're still
sort of testing the prompts to make sure that,
you know,
we've built something that is truly value adding,
because we know that our,
our clients in general really care about the correctness and the,
the quality of the things that go into SlideHub.
31:43
So we,
we don't want to build this AI features that just filled,
fill it with,
you know,
things that are not accurate and not,
not,
not value adding.
31:52
So we're still in the earliest of exploration stage.
So we're still in terms of,
you know,
in terms of making sure that these features truly add value
and really aligns with the vision of the product and then,
and that we don't,
you know,
just don't,
we don't slap an AI label on the product
just to kind of say it's an AI product.
32:11
I think that that's,
we use a ton of different software ourselves.
And I think sometimes you see
the marketing teams are throwing AI and labels and everything,
and then you use the product and you go like,
really?
Um,
So we want to like avoid that.
32:26
I mean,
make sure that when we add AI,
it'd be something that really sort of helps,
uh,
helps the users.
Right.
Um,
yeah.
32:35
So that, that's, that's,
you know,
how we currently think about it.
That's the only,
is there anything you want to add to this?
Um,
All right.
32:47
I think with that,
we have,
uh,
reached our last topic of question and answers.
So, uh,
if anybody have anything, um,
any question would be happy to answer them.
33:05
Yeah. Yeah.
Very cool.
All right.
That doesn't slow.
Just give people a minute or two more.
Uh,
Mary's asking whether we have considering translation plugin,
uh,
thanks to AI. I think this is a really good question.
33:27
Right.
Um,
I think one of the things we're always thinking about is like,
when can we have slide up, you know,
do things like
different than,
you know,
what Microsoft might be working,
uh,
at all already.
33:41
Right.
Um,
I know,
uh,
PowerPoint,
as you have,
have a translation feature already where you
can right click the content and translate it.
33:49
Um,
so I think in order for us to build a,
you know,
translation,
uh,
plugin of some sort,
I think we would, we need to have a,
you know, a way of doing it, doing it better.
34:01
Um,
but,
um,
yeah,
if you have any specific use cases on where you see the,
the translation would,
uh,
would fit in to the experience,
you know,
we would be happy to, uh,
you know,
have a,
have an explanation talk and see how we,
34:19
how we might be able to,
to add value there.
And I think that that's a,
that's a probably goes,
um,
I think a,
uh,
I think as a general thing is that the way we sort of prioritize
our backlog and choose how to build this very
much with this sort of partnership mindset.
34:39
So,
um,
you know,
we're more than happy to also,
you know,
book,
book some specific time to explore,
um,
some of these potential solution a bit further.
34:50
Um,
so another question,
uh,
do you have an,
add a standard,
uh,
add,
uh,
to
add a stand,
so long pages in the words,
slide up.
35:03
Um,
it is something that we have been requested.
So I think we do have it in the backlog as of right now,
but it's not something that we have planned sort of in the,
in the,
in the coming quarter.
Um,
but again,
I would love to kind of understand it a bit more,
uh,
Mary.
35:21
Yeah.
Um,
maybe in terms of,
in terms of what Sandra is also mentioning,
uh,
in terms of the,
the offices,
the way that,
because we do have,
uh,
clients that are in,
in multiple offices with,
uh,
35:34
multiple languages as well.
Um,
and you can create, uh,
create teams in the application as well,
and then create subcategories,
uh,
as well for the,
for the different languages.
35:47
So it is something that,
that quite a few of our clients have,
uh,
have solved,
uh,
typically not with,
uh,
with translation,
uh,
but more using the data structure that is,
uh,
available in,
in slide hub.
36:00
Um,
yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
As,
as representing a small language in terms of Danish,
we are,
we are naturally a bit skeptical with some of
these automated translations because they
have a tendency to be not that great,
but,
uh,
that,
36:18
that might be,
uh,
that might be a special case of,
uh,
of a small language like that.
Cool.
All right.
36:29
Thanks for the feedback, Sandra.
Anybody else?
Anybody else?
All right.
Then in case you're watching the replay of this,
or if,
you know,
on any other question comes up in any way,
um,
here,
you can see the,
the direct contact information of,
of Runa and Les as well.
36:49
You have my email here,
um,
as mentioned in general,
we happy to spend time on more,
uh,
more calls and discussing,
you know,
both product and organization challenges and
other ways just light up might be happening.
37:02
helpful for you in the future.
So, uh, please don't hesitate to, uh,
to reach out.
And I,
I think with that,
I just want to say,
say thanks for your time and then,
uh,
wish you a great rest of the day.
37:16
Thank you.
Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.
